Still need to investigate sources more thoroughly and delineate a family branch here with an earliest known ancestor. Clearly much history known and recorded by locals. Better yet, need to find descendants of this line that are doing research and are willing to DNA test. There are many descendants with the surname still in the county; not the least of which is the surviving here in the original Pole Hore house.
The line is presumably from at least the 1300's to the present day. Possibly back as early as the 1200's and the Norman invasion to Ireland. There is some lore that the Risford Manor Hore line was started by a non-inheriting son from this line. While there is a distinguished history of the Hore family in the 1800's and who built the Pole Hore house, and they were supposedly large landowners as taken from the visitations in the early 1600's, the family seems likely quite dispersed and no longer in the PoleHore area by 1900.
