SPRINGFIELD - Dorothy M. (Mosher) Dewey, 81 died on Monday, August 16 in Pensacola,m FL. She was born in Springfield and was a life-long resident. She was a charter member of Church in the Acres (Baptist) and taught church school for many years. She graduated from the High School of Commerce. She was employed by the former H.R. Hunting Company for 34 years and retired from Baystate Medical Center (Wesson Memorial Unit) after 10 years. She is survived by her son William R. Dewey and three granddaughters, Kristina, Amanda and Emily of Pensacola, FL. and several nieces and nephews. Mrs Dewey was predeceased by her husband, Elmer R. Dewey and two sisters, Ellen Mosher Hoar and Mac Irene Weaver. The funeral procession will gather at Byron Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St. Springfield on Thursday at 10:30 am followed by a graveside service at 11 am in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to the Church of the Acres (Baptist) 1383 Wilbraham Rd., Springfield, Ma. 01119.

Deceased Name: Aileen L. Hoar
LOWELL Aileen L. (McKenna) Hoar, a longtime Lowell resident who had worked at several stores in the city, died Friday, July 25, at Lowell General Hospital. She was married to local attorney Frederick Hoar, with whom she would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year on Sept. 2.
She was born in Lowell, a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Leonora E. (Belanger) McKenna. She graduated from Lowell High School as well as Vesper George and the Modern School of Applied Art in Boston.
Mrs. Hoar worked in Boston as an illustrator and a display artist. She also worked at the Bon Marche Department Store, Cherry and Webb, and the Frank Archer TV Store, all in Lowell.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Chelmsford and St. Margaret Church in Lowell. She was a member of the parish's Blessed Virgin Sodality, the Poor Clair's Guild, and also the Lowell Lawyers Wives Club.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kathy Ann McDonald; and two grandchildren, Stephen McDonald and Leonora McDonald, all of Chelmsford.
She was also the sister of the late June McKenna of Attleboro and Walter T. McKenna of Westboro.

WESTBORO -- Walter T. McKenna, 67, formerly of Cortland Drive, died Sunday, June 11, in the Hospice Residence, Worcester, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Patricia M. (Clancy) McKenna; two sons, Thomas A. McKenna of Long Island, N.Y., and Walter T. McKenna II of New Providence, N.J.; a sister, Aileen Hoar of Lowell; and four grandchildren. A son, Christopher T. McKenna, died in 1970; and a sister, June McKenna of Lowell, also died before him. He was born in Lowell, son of Thomas A. and Leonora E. (Belanger) McKenna, and lived in Westboro the past 35 years. He graduated from Lowell High School and attended Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving as a staff sergeant.
Mr. McKenna was a district sales manager for American Tobacco Co. His territory was most of Massachusetts.
He was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, where he was an usher and collector, of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9013, and of the John Boyle O'Reilly Council Knights of Columbus.
The funeral, with military honors, will be held Wednesday, June 14, from Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St. Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, in the funeral home. The Knights of Columbus will conduct their ritual at 7:30 p.m. during the calling hours. Flowers may be sent, or memorial donations made to VNA Care Hospice Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.

LOWELL - Frederick J. Hoar, 86, a longtime Lowell resident, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Aileen (McKenna) Hoar, who died in 2003.
He was born in Lowell on July 20, 1918, the son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Delaney) Hoar. Mr. Hoar graduated from Lowell High School in 1936, and from the University of Alabama. He received his law degree from Boston College Law School.
Mr. Hoar served in the U.S. Army as a lieutenant during World War II.
He practiced law in Lowell for many years before his retirement. He was also a former city solicitor for Lowell.
Mr. Hoar was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Chelmsford, and St. Margaret's Church in Lowell.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Ann McDonald of Chelmsford; two grandchildren; a brother, Paul Hoar of Lowell; a sister, Beatrice Hoar of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 26, at St. Mary's Church in Chelmsford. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell.

Carol T. Durocher BREWSTER - Carol T. "Tessie" (Hoar) Durocher, 66, died unexpectedly at her home Saturday, April 5, 2008. She was the wife of Alfred E. Durocher for 39 years.
Born, raised and educated in Holyoke, Mrs. Durocher was a graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School and Holyoke Hospital School of Nursing. A registered nurse for 40 years, Mrs. Durocher worked as a surgical nurse at Holyoke Hospital and as a charge nurse at the Windsor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in South Yarmouth. Mrs. Durocher was longtime resident of Holyoke until moving to West Yarmouth in 1979, and then to Brewster in 1997. An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, Mrs. Durocher also enjoyed bowling and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Durocher is survived by a daughter, Amy Holmes, and her husband, Mark, of South Dennis; two brothers, John and James Hoar, both of Holyoke; a sister, Mary Armata of South Windsor, Conn.; three grandchildren, Joshua, Katie and Chad Holmes, all of South Dennis; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 12, in St. Pius Tenth Church, Station Avenue, South Yarmouth.
Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 11, in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth 02664.

Born in Holyoke October 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Brogle) Hoar. She was educated in Holyoke schools and was a 1947 graduate of Holyoke High School. She later graduated from the former Cooley Dickinson Hospital School of Nursing. She was a nurse at Cooley Dickinson Hospital for many years, retiring in 1973. She was a communicant of Annunciation Church in Florence. She loved flowers and walking. She is survived by her husband, S. Donald Mulvaney; 2 sons, Stephen Mulvaney of Ithaca, NY and Patrick Mulvaney of Sunderland, MA; a daughter, Susan Mulvaney of Providence, RI; a sister, Carol Hannu of South Hadley; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Robert Hoar and a sister, Harriet Donahue, died earlier. The funeral will be Thursday morning, 8 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Annunciation Church at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. S. Donald Mulvaney, 78, of 23 Grandview Drive, died Friday at home.
Born Dec. 25, 1927 in Gilbertville, he was the son of Henry and Elsie (Ubertalli) Mulvaney. He was educated in Holyoke schools and was a graduate of Northampton High School and the Williston Prep School.
He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a mail carrier and later a supervisor at the U.S. Post Office in Northampton.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a communicant of Annunciation Church in Florence. He was a member of Northampton Elks Lodge No. 997.
He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Beaverbrook Golf Course. He was a former member of the U.S. Marine's semi professional football team and was active with the Williston Prep School football scholarship program. He was an avid reader and enjoyed family vacations at Misquamicut Beach, R.I.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Barbara A. (Hoar) Mulhaney in 2003. He is survived by two sons, Stephen J. Mulhaney of Ithaca, N.Y., and Patrick Mulvaney and his wife, Dawn, of Sunderland; a daughter, Susan Mulvaney of Providence; two brothers, Henry Mulvaney of West Hartford, Conn., and Ralph Mulvaney of Holyoke; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton, followed by a Funeral Mass in Annunciation Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Waterford- LCDR Charles H. Hoar, Jr., 85, of 19 Savi Ave., died Tuesday at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London.
He was born in Boston Oct. 6, 1917, the son of Charles and Marjorie Moody Hoar.
He married Vivian Hoar in Sheboygan, Wis., Sept. 7, 1946. She died Nov. 8, 1995.
Mr. Hoar was retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of service. He served in the Pacific during World War II. After retiring from the Navy, he was employed by the United Services Life Insurance Company for over 20 years.
He is survived by a son, Charles Hoar and his wife Karen of Oldsmar, Fla.; a daughter, Susan Herron and her husband Michael of Ridgefield; a sister, Margaret Dacey of West Roxbury, Mass.; and five grandchildren, Richard, Brian, and Kevin Hoar, and Steven and David Herron.
He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Hoar.
The funeral will assemble at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London, and proceed to an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
Calling hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

James R. Brown, 74, of 19 Dublin St.,Oswego,died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center.
He was a life resident of Oswego. He retired after 33 years as an Oswego city firefighter. A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of Oswego County American Legion and the Society of 40 & 8, and a life member and former commander of American Legion Post 268 in Oswego. He was a life member of Oswego Elks Lodge and a member, deacon and trustee of West Baptist Church, Oswego.
Survivors: His wife of 55 years, the former Betty Horr; a daughter, Susan L. Benzing of Oswego; a son, Jay-B of Minetto; a brother, Rollo "Huck" Mimmack of South Dakota; a sister, Shirley Cordovano of North Carolina; four grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Burial, Rural Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.

Betty E. Brown, 88, a resident of 19 Dublin Street in Oswego, passed away Friday, at the Loretto Nursing Home in Oswego. Mrs. Brown was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late William J. and Anna (Andrews) Horr. She was a life resident. She was the wife of the late James Brown, who died in 2001. Mrs. Brown was a life member of the West Baptist Church in Oswego, where she served as a Deaconess. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by a daughter, Susan (Joseph) Benzing of Oswego; a son Jay-B (Gwen) Brown of Oswego; 4 grandchildren, Jayson Brown, Lacey Brown, Joseph Benzing, and James Benzing; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Benzing; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11:00am, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00pm, at the funeral home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
