FLORENCE - Barbara A. (Hoar) Mulvaney, 73, of 23 Grandview St., died Tuesday at the Linda Manor Nursing Home in Leeds. Born in Holyoke October 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Brogle) Hoar. She was educated in Holyoke schools and was a 1947 graduate of Holyoke High School. She later graduated from the former Cooley Dickinson Hospital School of Nursing. She was a nurse at Cooley Dickinson Hospital for many years, retiring in 1973. She was a communicant of Annunciation Church in Florence. She loved flowers and walking. She is survived by her husband, S. Donald Mulvaney; 2 sons, Stephen Mulvaney of Ithaca, NY and Patrick Mulvaney of Sunderland, MA; a daughter, Susan Mulvaney of Providence, RI; a sister, Carol Hannu of South Hadley; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Robert Hoar and a sister, Harriet Donahue, died earlier. The funeral will be Thursday morning, 8 a.m. from the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Annunciation Church at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts St., Newton, MA 02458.
