WikiTree is a collaborative one-tree site started by Chris Whitten back in 2008. It has seen strong growth and development not being as restricted or structured as WeRelate. They quickly adopted ways to incorporate tagging of DNA testers and propagating that information around the tree as appropriate. Like most one-tree sites, its drawbacks are that you loose control of information once submitted; including the ability to delete it. Some have been burned by rogue project members steeling and posting their DNA results on the public WikiTree; including creating usernames and public profiles of their test status, result and personal information. For this reason, we have tightened up our project to not be so free with showing DNA test results to even group members and discourage the use of this site.
