George (1) Lawton was christened 23 Sep 1607 at Cranford, Bedfordshire, England, son of George Lawton (b. 1581) and Isbell Smith (ba 1585). and he died 5 Oct 1693 at Portsmouth. He married Elizabeth Hazard who was born about 1628 of Portsmouth, daughter of Thomas Hazard (b. 1610) and Martha (ba 1610). Children, born at Portsmouth: 1. Isbel, b 1642-1644 (age 86-88 years at death0; d. 1 April 1730 at Newport; m. as late as 1679 (as their first known child b. ca 1680) Samuel Albro, b. 1645 of Ipswich, England and Portsmouth, and d. 15 April 1739 and buried at Newport, son of John Albro (b. 1617 and Dororth (b. 1617). 2. Mary (BRC ancestor), b. ca 1646; d. 8 Nov 1711 at Westerly; m. (1) ca 1662 (their first child b. ca 1663 at Westerly) John Babcock, b. ca 1612 and Sarah (ba 1616). Mary m. (2) 21 April 1698 Erasmus Babbitt (ba 1644). 3. John (ALC ancestor), b ca 1648; d bef 3 June 1678 when his widow remarried; m prob ca 1675 (since he had but one child and his widow remarried in 1678) Mary Boomer or Booman b ca 1655 of Newport and died after 27 Jan 1715 when she was mentioned in the will of her second husband, dau of Matthew Boomer or Booman (br 1620) and Eleanor (br 1625).
