John was one of the earliest settlers of Lebanon, CT; first constable of the Town 31 May 1698; corporal of the first Militia Company there.
Abigail was living in Jan. 1732 when John Calkins of Lebanon deeded land to his son Jeremiah Calkins of Lebanon, reserving the use to "the life of me, the said John Calkins, and the natural life of my beloved wife Abigail."
25 Sept. 1725 John Calkins, ye first of Lebanon deeds to his son James Calkins.
29 Jan. 1744-45 John Calkins of Phillips Parrish (Precinct ?), Dutchess County, NY, sells to son James of Norwich land in Lebanan. Witnesses to this last deed were: John Calkins, Jr. and Jeremiah Calkins.
