  "The Will of Ellis Cook," edited by Albert Stanburrough Cook, privately printed in New Haven in 1916, contains the following information: o Like her brothers, John and Thomas, Martha Cooper Cooke was perhaps of a litigious disposition. She had disputes about land with the towne of Southampton in 1681, two years after her husband's death. o There are various references to her in "Early History of Southampton, L.
