      MARRIAGE
      The John W. Brooks Marriage Index lists the marriage between Robert Hoare and Margaret Caredise of St. Mary's of Wallingford, Berkshire, England, 7 November 1692. The card says they were actually married at Sotwell, which is a few miles from St. Mary's. In the year 1692 marriages from St. Mary's were solemnized at Sotwell which was a chapelry attached to the parish church of St. Leonard.

      LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
      In the name of God Amen, I Robert Hoare of Wallingford in the county of Berks, Tayler, being sick and weak but of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God for the same, and calling to mind his certainty of death and his uncertainty of the time when, do therefore make this my last will and testament in manner and forms following that is to say first and principally I Resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator assuredly hoping through the merits of my blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to obtain remission of all my sins and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named and as touching such worldly goods and estate as God of his mercy hath rent me I give and dispose thereof as followeth.
      Imprimis I give devise and bequeath unto my loving wife Margarett Hoare all that my messuage tenement or dwelling house with the appurtenances as to belonging situate laying and being in this parish of St. Peters within the Borough of Wallingford in the county of Berks for ever and to sell and dispose of the same as she shall think of it.
      Item I give and bequeath unto my said loving wife Margarett Hoare all that my messuage tenement of dwelling house with the outhouses, backside garden orchard and appurtenances there unto belonging situate laying and being in this parish of Newnham Murren in the county of Oxon for ever and to sell or dispose of the same as she shall think of.
      Item I give and bequeath unto my son Robert Hoare the sum of five shillings unto my daughter Elizabeth Burton five shillings unto my son Joseph Hoare five shillings and unto my son Benjamin Hoare five shillings to be paid to them within six months after my decease by my executrix herein affornamed.
      Item I give and bequeath unto my said loving wife Margarett Hoare all my household goods and implements of household goods of what kind soever.
      Item My will and meaning is that all this money that I shall have in my possession or that shall be owing to me from any person or persons either my mortgage bond bill or book debt at the time of my decease after my debts legacies and funeral expenses are paid I give the same unto my said loving wife Margarett Hoare whom I make full and sole executrix of this my last will and testament revoking and dismissing all forms and other wills by me at any time heretofore made and I do declare this to be my last will and testament.
      I the said Robert Hoare have herein set my hand and seal this two and twentieth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty three.
      Signed sealed published and declared by this said Robert Hoare to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who subscribed our names in the presence of the testator.....Robt. Hoare
