Ebenezer Buckingham (Ohio University, 1833) and Laura S. (Horr) Buckingham, was born in Canton, O., where his father was then and for many years pastor of the Presbyterian Church, May 25, 1850. On graduation he began the study of law in an office in Omaha, Nebraska, and in 1875 was admitted to the bar. At that time he formed a partnership with C. J. Green, Esq., and the firm continued the practice of law in Omaha until dissolved by death. In the fall of 1875 Mr. Buckingham was the candidate of the Democratic party for the county judgeship, but was defeated ; a year later he was elected district attorney of the Third District of Nebraska, and filled the office acceptably till his death.
