Deceased Name: Beatrice Hoar
Beatrice (Rossi) Hoar, 80, of this city, died Wednesday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She owned the kitchen at the former Log Cabin in Springfield and previously worked at Perkins Machine and Gear, Hatheway and Stean Tobacco Co., the Lillian Florist Shop and was a waitress at the former Betty's in the Patch. Born in Springfield, she was a graduate of Agawam High School. She was a former member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion in Agawam. Her husband, Edward F. Hoar, died in 1965. She leaves a son, Edward F. Rossi of West Springfield; three daughters, Frances Wright of the Feeding Hills section, Patricia Lappie Dudley of West Springfield and Kimberly LaValley of Agawam; three sisters, Ecla Sheehan of West Hartford, Conn., Rose Woodruff of Feeding Hills and Lillian Zajac of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday morning at Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home and in St. Anthony of Padua Church, with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday afternoon and evening. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 Capital Drive, West Springfield, MA 01089.

Deceased Name: Mario D. Rossi
Mario D. Rossi, 79, of 43 Church St. died Tuesday in a Eustis, Fla., nursing home. He was a supervisor at the Knowlton Disposal Area in East Longmeadow for several years, and also was a self-employed antiques dealer. He was born in Agawam, and lived in Somers, Conn., before moving here in 1955. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, the former Rose M. Ferioli, died in 1983. He leaves two daughters, Rose E. Rossi of Agawam and Judith Menard of Florida; a brother, Edward of Springfield; five sisters, Virginia Consolati and Beatrice Hoar of Agawam, Ecla Sheehan of Hartford, Rose Woodruff of Feeding Hills, Agawam, and Lillian Zajac of Springfield; a granddaughter. A private memorial service will be conducted at the convenience of the family, and Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home is in charge.

Edward J. Rossi, 78, formerly of Ashley Avenue, died Thursday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He worked at the former Van Norman Co. in Springfield for many years. Born in Agawam, he lived there most of his life before moving here 13 years ago. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Agawam. He leaves his wife, the former Eleanor Lyman; four sons, Edward J. Rossi Jr. of Southwick, John C. Rossi of Allenwood, Pa., William Hollis of Greenfield, and Michael A. Rossi of Ware; three daughters, Beverly Rossi of Chicopee, Deborah Cullison of Cary, N.C., and Cynthia Hollis of Arizona; three stepsons, Robert Gordon, Richard Gordon and Ronald Gordon of Agawam; five sisters, Ecla Sheehan of Hartford, and Virginia Consaloti, Rose Woodruff and Beatrice Hoar of Agawam, and Lillian Zajac of Springfield; 24 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday morning at Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home and the church, with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are this evening.
