Please do NOT merge again! They are two separate people. "A Tale of Two Hores" John Hore b.1763 was the son of Matthew Hore (b.1736) and Ellenor Longman (b.1708). John was a farmer with a 30 acre farm called Grey Farm. John Hore (b.1763) married Elizabeth Nicholls. He was widowed. Their son Jacob Hore (b.1814) married Ann Luke in 1835. This Jacob worked on his father's farm and then became a miner and moved to Canada. Jacob was the subject of the story "From Cornwall to Canada". John Hore b.1758 in St. Austell was the son of Jacob Hore (b.1738) and Mary Mitchell. John Hore (b.1758) married Jane Tregonnan (b.1755). Their son Jacob Hore (b.1788) married Gertrude Martyn. Jacob was a steam mining engineer who lived and died in Cornwall. Jacob's sons moved to America. His son John learned steam engines from his father and became Captain John of the early Michigan mines. Captain John went first to Pennsylvania, then Michigan and Jacob's son Richard Martyn Hore (Hoar) to Canada, then Michigan.
