Stanley I. Root, 79, of Stuart, Fla., and Henderson Harbor died Sunday. Born in Binghamton, he lived in Fayetteville 25 years, moving away in 1990. He graduated from Colgate University. He was a former co-owner of Root's Express and was an advanced classical pianist. He was past master of Fayetteville Masonic Lodge 578. He volunteered for the American Cancer Society and Watertown Meals on Wheels. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a member of the ?

Stanley Irwin Root Jr '45, June 30, 2002. US Marine Corps. He had been VP of Root's Express, a motor freight carrier in East Syracuse, NY, for many years, retiring in the late 1980s. Survivors include his son and daughter.
