      Deceased Name: Rudy S. Sandoval
      1927 2011
      HOLYOKE Rudy S. Sandoval, 83, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Heritage Hall North Nursing Home in Agawam. He was born in Chino, CA on June 19, 1927 to the late Balthazar and Aurora (Siqueiros) Sandoval. Rudy attended schools in Arizona. Mr. Sandoval proudly served our country in the United States Army where he earned the WWII Victory Medal. Upon his discharge, Mr. Sandoval moved to the Amherst area where he made his home. He worked for the U.S. Railroad for fifteen years and retired from Amherst College after over twenty-five years of service. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club in Amherst. In his spare time, Mr. Sandoval truly enjoyed cooking and gardening. Rudy was predeceased by his loving wife, May H. (Horr) in 2001 after fifty-two years of marriage. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Rudy Sandoval, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Holyoke; his brother, Balthazar "Honeydew" Sandoval of Las Vegas, NV; his four sisters, Alberta Nelson, Aurora Miamura, Terry Romero and Mary Ann Casillas all of CA; his sister-in-law, Irene Sandoval of Seattle, WA; his two granddaughters, Kate Netkovick and her husband Tim of South Hadley and Andrea Lauzier and her husband Jacob of Holyoke and his great grandson, Ryan Netkovick. Beside his parents and his wife, Rudy was also predeceased by his two brothers, David and Anthony. There are no calling hours and burial will be at a later date in Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rudy's memory, to either the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 319, South Deerfield, MA. 01373 or to a charity of one's choice.
