Obituary:
Floyd B. Horr, 57, Springfield, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on January 10, 2005, in his home. Born on November 25, 1947, in General Hospital and raised in Kansas City, MO, he attended Longfellow grade school and Westport High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1969, and worked for 11 years at J.C. Penney in Springfield, MO, two years at Metcalf Shopping Center, Kansas City, KS, two years at Indian Springs, Kansas City, KS, and Brunson Instrument Company, Kansas City, KS. His hobbies included football, NASCAR, traveling to see his family, visiting Las Vegas, NV, camping, fishing and horse racing at the horse track or on television. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd S. Horr; his mother, Lorraine Lee; brother, Kenneth Horr; grandfather, Raymond Robb; and grandmother, Edna Stubby. Survivors include his wife, Eva Horr, of the home; sister, Edna J. Wolf and her husband, Tony; brother, Richard Horr; half-sister, Kelly Hilyard; daughters, Cindy and Tammy Horr; six grandchildren; 14 nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Viola Dedrick, of the home; brother-in-law, Larry L. Dedrick; special friends, Fred Humphries, Louis Taute and family, Donna Kirsch and family, and Tommy Stokes; and two cats, Bruce and Mousy. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
