      Deceased Name: HERTLER. WILLIAM CHARLES HERTLER SR.
      HERTLER. William Charles Hertler Sr., 70, of Westfield Terrace, Middletown, husband of the late Dolores (Hoar) Hertler, died suddenly Sunday (Dec. 14) at his home. He was born in New Haven, son of the late William and Mary E. (Forant) Hertler. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Marines. He was retired from Northeast Utilities, where he was employed for 36 years, and presently was employed at Heritage Commons. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends and will be missed by all. He leaves a son and daughter-in-law, William C. and Victoria Hertler Jr. of Middletown; four daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and David Bober in Pennsylvania, Pamela and Joel Berube of Middletown, Gretchen and John McInval e of East Hampton, and Heidi and David Dirgins of Farmington; two sisters, Mary P. Hertler of Middletown, and Kathrine Rook of Redding; seven grandchildren, Derek and Amanda Bober, Courtney, Savannah and Shelby McInvale, William Ryan, and Connor Hertle r. The funeral will be Wednesday, 10:15 a.m., from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a Funeral Liturgy, 11 a.m., in St. Pius X Church, Middletown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home , Tuesday, 5-8 p.m.
