  [[ Obituary: Oregonian, The (Portland, OR) - November 23, 1999 Deceased Name: Richard Burgett Sr. Richard "Dick" Burgett Sr. died Nov. 8, 1999, of cancer at age 65. A memorial service has been held. Mr. Burgett was born April 1, 1934, in Melcher, Iowa, and moved to Portland as a child. He attended Benson Polytechnic High School. He served in the U.S. Army for seven years and was a veteran of the Korean War. He lived in Sandy since 1971. A truck driver for many years, he owned Burgett Trucking for about 12 years until retiring because of illness earlier this year. He married Edna Hoar in 1952. Survivors include his wife; daughters, KayLynn Syring of Sandy and LaDonna Azar of Estacada; son, Rick of Sandy; mother, Maxine Leisure of Troutdale; brothers, Stan of Portland and Don of Tillamook; sister, Bunny Stewart of Vancouver, Wash.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Mt. Hood Hospice or a favorite charity. Arrangements were by Sandy Funeral Home.
