Another clipping, fifty years later, from Georgia's notebook:

Levering. Over 100 Attend Pangborn's 50th Anniversary. Levering Methodist Church parlor room was the scene Sunday Dec. 27 of an open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. Morton C. A short program was in charge of Mrs. Irene Sanders and consisted of a skit by the mesdames Frank and Mervyn Schmalzried; a duet "Memories" by Mrs. Leon Schmalzried and daughter Joan Williams; remarks by Ivan Cook, former postmaster, under whom Mr. Pangborn worked for many years. The program concluded with some original verses by little Miss Julie Pangborn.

Refreshments were served throughout the party. Among out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Pennell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Page and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Page and their families, all from Petoskey; Gerald Pangborn and children of Pellston; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Pangborn of Dearborn; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Wood of Port Huron; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ramsy of Harbor Beach; Mr. and Mrs. William Wurst of Pellston; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Schmalzried of Petoskey; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wartella, Mrs. Spencer Jones and sister Mrs. Florence Elkinton, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Douglas, all of Cheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Beckon of Cross Village; and Leonard Schreyer of Pellston.
