      Agnes K. Simmons Agnes K. Simmons, 72, of N. State St., Ripley, died Wednesday, February 22, 2005 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 29, 1933 in Brownsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Derth and Hazel Hoar Swoger. She was employed as a cafeteria worker at Ripley Central School from 1986 until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ripley. She also collected and enjoyed watching movies, and was an avid collector of Disney memorabilia. She is survived by her husband, James G. Simmons, whom she married June 8, 1968; son Timothy J. Simmons and his wife Barb of Hamburg, N.Y.; daughter Kimberly A. Swanson and her husband Jeff of Jamestown; grandchildren Chianne, Shane, Kiara, and Kylie Swanson, and Alexis and Peyton Simmons; brothers Bob and Dick Swoger both of Ripley, N.Y.; sisters Jane Trippy of North East, Pa., Della O'Dell of Grove City, Pa., Sandy Wagner of Erie, Pa., and Marge Butcher of Ripley, N.Y. She was preceded in death three brothers, Derth Swoger, Ronald Swoger and Leonard Swoger; and three sisters, Daryl Swoger, Mary Witt, and Hazel Swoger. Friends may call at the Mathews Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Ripley, on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services there at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Eggleston, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held privately in the Quincy Cemetery.
