      Deceased Name: MILDRED H. SHEEHAN, 92
      GARDNER -- Mildred H. (Hoar) Sheehan, 92, of 1 Mason Drive in Melrose, formerly of 125 Connors St., died Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Center for Optimum Care, Wakefield, after an illness.
      Her husband of 39 years, John F. Sheehan, died in 1976. She leaves three sons, Dr. Brian T. Sheehan of Hillsboro, Calif., David V. Sheehan of Melrose and John E. Sheehan of Madison, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A brother, Everett Hoar, and four sisters, Leoline Hoar, Madeline Skinner, Pauline Robinson and Marilyn Powers, predeceased her. She was born in Everett, daughter of Eugene J. and Hilda L. (Cudworth) Hoar, and lived in Gardner from 1936 to 1997. She graduated from Malden High School.
      Mrs. Sheehan worked 18 years in the laboratory office at Lilly Varnish Co. before retiring.
      She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, the Gardner Golden Agers and the Catholic Women's Club; a charter member and past president of the Gardner Emblem Club; and a former member of the Business and Professional Women's Club.
      The funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 6, from Smith Funeral Home, 69 Vernon St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 9 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
