      Portland Newspapers Nov 2, 1996
      Russell S. Hoar, 45, of Anderson Street, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
      He was born here, son of Clayton and Helen Mace Hoar, and attended South Portland schools.
      During the Vietnam War, Mr. Hoar served in the Army.
      He had been a painter for Logan Painting Co.
      He was a fan of South Portland's Red Riots teams and the Portland Sea Dogs, and enjoyed dancing.
      Mr. Hoar was a member of the Portland Eagles.
      Surviving are his parents of Dunedin, Fla.; five sons, Heath Hoar, and Danny, Rob, Chris and Jeff Rice, all of Portland; four brothers, Clayton of Buxton, Gregory of Gorham, Lee Forest and Richard, both of Portland; two sisters, Irene Libby and Patricia Hill, both of Portland; and several grandchildren.
      A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hay & Peabody, 749 Congress St. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park.
