WEBSTER -- Phyllis (Bigelow) Hoar, 72, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Concord, the daughter of L. Waldo and Josephine (Pye) Bigelow Jr., she lived most of her life in the Warner-Webster area.
She graduated from Simonds High School in Warner, Class of 1950, and attended the University of New Hampshire.
She worked as a bookkeeper at the Endicott Furniture Co. for many years, retiring in 1980. She was the assistant librarian at the Webster Library for many years.
She was a member of the Webster Congregational Church.
She enjoyed traveling, hiking, sewing and especially little children.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two daughters, Virginia Gale Hoar and Darlene Leonardi; and her brother, L. Waldo "Ted" Bigelow III.
She leaves her husband of 52 years, Kenneth R. Hoar of Webster; two daughters, Deborah Kardaseski of Loudon and Laura French of Warner; two grandchildren, Adrea Leigh Jones of Boscawen and Chloe French of Warner; one brother, Robert P. Bigelow of Londonderry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will not be held.
Graveside services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Beaver Dam Cemetery in Webster, where the Rev. David Richardson, of the First Congregational Church of Hooksett, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Secure Care Unit at Merrimack County Nursing Home, DW Highway, Boscawen 03303; or to the Alzheimer's Association, Vermont and New Hampshire Chapter, 10 Ferry St., Suite 427 B, Concord 03301-5004.
Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home in Penacook is in charge of the arrangements.
