  [[ Obituary: Concord Monitor (NH) - May 20, 2004 Deceased Name: James H. Roberts Jr., WEBSTER - Obituary WEBSTER -- James H. "Luke"Roberts Jr., 76, of Pleasant Street, died Tuesday at Concord Hospital. He was born in North Attleboro, Mass., the son of James Sr. and Hazel (Roberts) Roberts. He was a lifelong resident of Webster. He served in the Merchant Marines and the Navy. Roberts worked for the Army Corps of Engineers as manager of the Blackwater Dam in Webster for 30 years and as police chief in Webster. He was a member of the State Police Auxiliary and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting and gun collecting. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Phyllis (Hoar) Roberts of Webster; a son, James Roberts III of Webster; a daughter, Susan Roberts of Webster; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Myrtle Upton, died previously. Calling hours will not be held. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Webster Police Department, Battle Street, Webster 03303; or to the Webster Congregational Church, 1013 Long St., Webster 03303.
