MRS. ADA HOAR DIED HERE LAST THURSDAY
Former Resident of Truro Passes Here at Home of Daughter
Mrs. Ada B. Hoar, age 57, died last Thursday after a long illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. G. Gearhart of Winterset. She had been in failing health for some time and had been bedfast for the past two months.
Mrs. Hoar was a native of Adams county, where she was born near Kent on Aug. 3, 1882 as Ida Belle McCarl. She was married to Asa Hoar in 1902.
For 10 years prior to 1927, they were residents of Madison county living in Truro where they have many friends. For the past two years their home had been in Creston, but Mrs. Hoar was brought to the home of her daughter here a month ago, where her death occurred.
Mrs. Hoar is survived by her husband; two sons, Glenn Hoar of Trenton, Mo., and Chester Hoar of Washington, D.C., the one daughter, Mrs. Alice Gearhart of Winterset; two brothers, Dr. J. J. McCarl of Sac City and A. E. McCarl of Marengo; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Detrick funeral home in Creston Sunday in charge of the Rev. Mr. Lister, Church of Christ minister there. Burial was made in the Graceland cemetery at Creston.
