EVA B. ANDERSON
CASTANA, Iowa --- Eva Belle Anderson, 81, of Castana died Thursday, Nov. 16, 1995, at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Castana Community Church with the Rev. Patricia Preusz officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, rural Castana. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with Rebekah services and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.
Mrs. Anderson was born April 4, 1914, in rural Onawa, the daughter of Charles F. and Effie Mabel (Gross) Hoar. She graduated from Blencoe School in 1932 and worked at the Monona County Farm in Castana. She married Fred Alvin Anderson Nov. 17, 1934, in LeMars, Iowa. Mr. Anderson died August 3, 1980. She had been a resident of the Maple Heights Nursing Home since October 1993.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Castana Community Church, where she served on the church board as financial secretary and as a youth leader for 17 years. She was a member of Maple View Rebekah Lodge 53 of Castana, and Elise Rebeka Lodge 222 of Onawa for over 60 years.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Paul Petersen Jr, of Turin, Iowa, Nancy and Harvey Hanson and Catherine and Brady Hanson, all of Castana; 13 grandchildren, Susan Steiner, Sandra Pflug, Roger Petersen, Julie Whitney, Pamela Meester, Cyndi Lacina, and Christopher, Steven, Kenneth, Ann, Bradley, Robert and Theresa Hanson; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Flora Kelly of Onawa and Stella Vinson of Portland, Ore.; a brother, George Hoar, of Ute, Iowa; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Nelson of Castana.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Arlene; a great granddaughter, Kelsey Pflug; two sisters, Mabel Anderson and Ida Nelson; and a brother-in-law, Edwin Anderson.
