W. D. Horr, the Gallia street feed man, had a rather unpleasant experience with a stray bullet Monday evening. He was coming down Washington near Leets plaining mill. Something struck him on the shirt front. It spatted hard and caused him to come to a sudden stop and take a step backward. There was a stinging sensation and abserving the hole 'in the shirt bosom it did not; take Mr.; Horr long to make up his mindJie. had collided with a. spent cartridge ball. Whence it came or who did the shooting are mystnes Mr. Horr cannot explain. He is pretty positive it was not a flobert ball as that would not have penetrated the heavy shirt bosom and caused such a stinging sensation where it touched the skin. He heard no report and saw no one n sight. Who did the shooting?

Chad And Will Horr Bought Out Father
A deal was consummated, onTuesday, whereby the Messrs Chad and Will" Horr become the sole owners of the feed store, owned and conducted for the' past 34 years by their
father, W. D. Horr of Gallia near Gay street. The necessary money was turned over to Mr. Horr, Sr., Tuesday and the firm will hereafter be known as Horr Bros. The many friends of the new owners predict for them the same success that has marked the business career of the retiring member of the firm. W. D. Horr is one of Portsmouth's best and most influential citizens and through his hard work and honest methods he had built up a prosperous business. The year just drawing to a close, was the most successful one since Mr. Horr launched into the feed business 34 years ago. Messrs. Chad and William Horr are to be congratulated upon securing the business, to which both are naturally adapted, having grown up with it. They are industrious, affable and
accomodating and endowed with thrift. That they will maintain the high standards set by their father is a moral certainty W. D. llorr will take, a much needed rest and unless his present plans are upset, he has retired from active business for all time to come, and will spend time looking after his large realty holdings.
