[5373R] Christopher (1) Webb was made a freeman of the colony May 1645 and was one of the Braintree men who petitioned the General Court before Oct. 1645 for land for a new plantation. He died June 1671 according to the probate record.
He married Humility __ , who died Nov. 1687 aged 99 years according to Braintree records.
For a genealogy of Christopher-1 Webb's descendants see Webb Family in the Giles Memorial (1864) by John Adams Vinton. It has been asserted that Christopher Webb was born 1595 in Warwickshire, etc., but proof of such statements are entirely lacking. There was also a Christopher Webb at Rattlesden, Co. Suffolk (Reg. 57:332 from which town several New England settlers came. (C.F. Banks)

[5373]: S.P. 7:158: Will of Christopher Webb (noncupative) who died June 1671: First (1) he gave his son Christopher all his lands and full power to confirm the sale of part he had sold unto Joh Crosbore according to law as also to confirm the exchange of another part of it with Deacon Samuel Bass. He gave his wife Humility Webb all moveable goods & she was to be his executor & gave her the use of 4 acres meadow & a cow during life then to return to his son. He gave his dau. Mary Sheffield a cowe. He gave his dau. Sarah Buckmaster an iron kettle after her mother's decease. Attested by Samuel Thompson & Joseph Adams who swear to it 2nd of 9th mo. 1671.
Administration given to son Christopher 15/11/1671 (2).
