Deceased Name: Alexander Barbick
Alexander Barbick, 88, of Amesbury, died September 13, 2006, at the VA Hospital in Bedford.
Born in Worcester, March 14, 1918, he was the son of the late Stanislaus and Stella Barbick- Mispilkin. He was the longtime companion of the late Alice Wells, who died in 2001.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Barbick served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1939 to 1945.
Following the war, he settled in Amesbury and was a self-employed carpenter for many years.
He is survived by one sister, Jennie Kerkian of Newburyport; his nephew, Michael Barbick of Swanton, Vt.; his nieces, Anne Murphy and her husband, Bernard, of Burke, Va., and Lorraine McDonough and her husband, John, of Braintree; and several great-nieces and greatnephews.
He was also the brother of the late Michael Barbick, Olga Gurzack, Helen Hoar and Michael Mispilkin.
Funeral services were held September 18 from the Market Street Baptist Church Chapel in Amesbury, followed by burial in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Amesbury. Arrangements were by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home of Amesbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701- 4688.
