"1) Nathaniel Foote, b. about 1593 ( came from Shalford in Colchester, England, to Watertown, MA, before 1633); m. in England about 1615, Elizabeth Deming, sister of John Deming who was one of the first settlers of Wethersfield. She was b. about 1595. He died about 1644, age 51. She m. (2) about 1646, Thomas Welles. He was a magistrate, afterwards Governor of the Colony. He died ___. She d. July 28, 1683.
His children, probably all except the last one, born in England. He is buried in the ancient burying ground in the rear of the meeting house. Nathaniel left no will. His wife, 2 sons and 5 daughters survived him.

Child (1) Hannah Dickinson, b. Dec. 6, 1648; m. (1)Sept. 23, 1660 Samuel Gilet of Hadley. He was lost at "Falls Fight", May 19, 1676; (2) May 15, 1677 Stephen Jennings of Hadley. She was captured by the Indians Sept. 19 1677, and carried to Canada. She returned in 1678.....(Lots of information about Indian massacres.)
