      Obituary:
      Hoard, Franklin "Frank"
      Published: Saturday, September 15, 2012

Mr. Franklin "Frank" Hoard, age 88 years, formerly of Detroit Ave., passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Roseview Manor on Tuesday, September 11th, 2012.

Born in Fort William in 1924, Frank moved to Toronto in his late teens where he worked for a number of years in the dry cleaning business before taking a position in the custodial department of the North York Board of Education. It was in Toronto where Frank met his soulmate Margaret; they married in 1955. Later, in 1973 Frank and Margaret moved back to Thunder Bay, where he took a position with the Lakehead Board of Education, working at Churchill High School for more than 10 years, until an injury forced him to retire.

Frank was very active throughout his life and was a regular at the Canada Games Complex. He was also a very active member of Knox United Church.

Frank will be lovingly remembered by his son Tom (Lillian) Langstaff and his grandson Scott as well as his longtime close friend Sally Arthur. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

He was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 1979, his parents Wilson and Effie, his 12 brothers and sisters as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Following cremation, Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday September 18th, 2012 in the Chapel of the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Lilian Patey of Knox United Church. Interment in Riverside Cemetery will follow the reception. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Knox United Church.
