      Obituary:
      Hoard, Garry George
      Published: Friday, December 7, 2007
It is with great sorrow that the family of Mr. Garry Hoard, aged 63 years, announce his passing on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at his home with his wife by his side. He was a much loved husband, father and grandfather and we will all miss him terribly. Garry was the ultimate outdoorsman. He was happiest sharing his love of nature with his family and friends and spent many happy hours hunting, fishing, enjoying nature and sharing his knowledge of the outdoors. He was also an accomplished jack of all trades and spent many hours helping his family doing carpentry, mechanical work and anything else that was needed. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Karolyn, daughters Kim Hoard of Thunder Bay and Patricia Belliveau (Brian) of Bruderheim, AB and their children Saara and Erika. He was so proud of all of them! Also mourning his loss is his brother Doug Hoard (Betty), sister June Norkooli, both of Thunder Bay and sister Elaine Canellos (Steve) of Sherwood Park, AB and their families. In addition, surviving are many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his many special hunting and fishing partners, particularly his friend Art Lawrence. Garry started his career with Acklands-Grainger in 1963 as a truck driver and continued to work his way up to become one of their most successful and respected Sales Representatives in Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba. He was very proud that he had worked for the same company for over 40 years. His illness forced him to stop working at the end of 2004, but he kept in close contact with his coworkers, often dropping by for coffee. Predeceased by mother Doris in 1997 and father Ralph in 1983, and very recently by cousin Elmer Tozer who was like a brother to him. Now they are together again searching for the BIG ONE that sometimes got away. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Garry Hoard will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to the MS Society or the Northern Cancer Research Foundation. The family would like to thank the Oliver Paipoonge First Response Team for their compassion and assistance. On line condolences at: www.jenkens-funeral.ca http://www.jenkens-funeral.ca>
