[[Obituary:
Ethel was born June 5, 1915, at Miltonvale, the son of Andrew and Minnie
Hoard.
She graduated from Miltonvale High School. She married Albert Sharp in
October, 1935. In her early years she taught school and helped on family
farms. In 1963, she and Albert bought the Frontier Cafe in Mankato until
1970 when they moved to Winfield. There they ran a Mode-A-Day Store for
several years. She then went to work as a secretary at Winfield Hospital.
After Albert's death, she married Charles Mikesell. After his death, she
moved to Salina. She was very active with the Nazarene Church. She was
also preceded in death by a daughter, Alberta; three brothers, Elmer,
Earl and Harry Lee Hoard; one sister, Junelda Dillon; an infant
granddaughter, Susy; and two great-great grandsons, Jeremiah Neal and
Justin Winter, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Martha Belle Thomas of Gainsville, Fla.,
Betty Ann Turner of Salina, Johnie Lee Sharp and wife Sharon of Phoenix,
Ariz.; five brothers, Charles Hoard of Miltonvale, Andy Junior Hoard of
Smith Center, Keith Hoard of Oxford, Neb., Floyd Hoard of Lakewood, Colo.
and Dean Hoard of Ft. Collins, Colo.; four sisters, Martha Jane Olson of
Miltonvale, Bertha Mae Howell of Greeley, Colo, Evelyn Rafferty of Blue
Springs, Mo. and Jean Taylor of Concordia; nine grandchildren; and 15
great-greandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at First Church of the
Nazarene in Salina.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at
Miltovale Cemetery.
