[[The following census information was compiled and contributed by Joyce S.
Robert, and his family, lived in Dartmouth, Freetown & Middleboro, of Bristol Co MA. He bought land in Dartmouth, there in 1768. In 1773 "of Dartmouth" when be bought land at Freetown. Sold part of his holdings in 1785. The rest in 1791 after moving to New Salem, before 1790. While living in Freetown, in 1778, he was a sergeant under Capt. Henry Pierce of 4th Co. Middleboro, he served as commissary collecting forage. Note there are five Pierce marriages in this couples descendants.

This works out to be;

3 females; wife Sarah, dau Sarah, & Mercy.
Judith was not yet born. Peter had died.
Note this number does not include son Warren married abt 1790, or dau Elizabeth married abt 1788.
Shadrach Hoar 1790 census has an extra female and male. Half brother Peter Hoar in Plymouth Co has an extra male over 16.

Children used the name Horr. A few later generations used Hoar, Hor, Harr, Hoard, Hord, Horrworth, and Orr.
Robert had 37 grandsons. Three were named William, three named Charles, and three named Warren. None were named Robert. (24 granddaughters)
1st child Warren returned to/stayed in Massachusetts, four children resided in New York; 2nd child Elizabeth, 4th Israel, 8th Elijah, and 11th child Mercy. The 3rd child Jacob went to Ohio, 7th Robert went to Illinois, and 12th Judith went to Michigan. The 10th, Isaac went to Ohio but returned to New York. JVS

Robert's half brother, Peter, lived in Middleborough, Plymouth Co, MA. Little is known of him. He married Mercy/Marcy Pierce and by census appears to have had two sons and three daughters with unknown names.
Robert's half brother, John, lived in Pelham, Hampshire Co MA. He married Abigail PEIRCE b: 24 Nov 1785 in Pelham, Hampshire, MA. Her parents were George Peirce & Sarah Pierce. Note spelling of surnames.

Family Bible of Robert and Sarah (Reed) Hoar.
A Record of Descendants of Hezekiah Hoar of Taunton, Massachusetts, by Norton T. Horr (1907), under the sketch for Robert Hoar (Robert, Samuel, Nathaniel, Hezekiah) (page 14) and his wife Sarah Reed, lists a daughter named Mercy, born 25 January 1790, who married "---- Evans." In the text of this sketch it is reported that "Their [ie. Robert and Sarah's] bible record, begun in 1800, is still preserved." (Etc)
