Obituary:
Ypsilanti, Mich. -- Alice Mae Sanders, 79, formerly of Frontier, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Superior Woods Health Care Center in Ypsilanti. She was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Hillsdale to Russell R. and Vernia (Clark) Horr and was a 1950 Camden-Frontier High School graduate. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Montpelier, Ohio, Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Bryan, Ohio, and American Legion Auxiliary in Fremont, Ind.
On July 29, 1950, she married Carl L. Sanders and he preceded her in death in 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Paulette Paxton (Robert Kontos) of Ypsilanti and Rebecca (Tom) McMillen of Pioneer, Ohio; two sons, Rodrick (Cindy) Sanders of Hillsdale and Steven R. (Christina) Sanders, I of Frontier; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Horr.
A memorial service will be held Monday, 2 p.m., at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading, with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 N. Main Street, Chamberlain, S.D., 57325.
