Obituary:
Bessent, Francis Marion, 82, of Ft. Lauderdale died on August 11, in Plantation, FL. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was active in the Lions Clubs, and with the "VIP's" (Visually Impaired Persons). He also was member of the National Rifle Association, the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Masonic Lodge, and Scottish Rite. He was an avid gardener, and was proud to vote in every election. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean E., daughters; Jean E. Cardova of Ft. Lauderdale, Joan V. (Edward) Horr of Knoxville, TN, Jane B. (James) Sampson of Roanoke Rapids, NC, brother Richard H. (Peggy) Bessent of Hesperia, CA, 9 grandchildren; James and Joy Cardova, Jeffrey and Joseph Lovin, Jennifer Horr and Joshua Horr, Keith Ogden, Kristopher Ogden, and Jessica Sampson. A memorial service will be held Friday 2 PM at the Way of Life Assembly of God. In his memory the family suggests donations to the Lions Club, or any association that assists the visually impaired.
