Never Before Published Records of Far Western Kentucky", by M. Juliette Magee, 1977 This book is based on the Journal kept by Ed Horr, a grocer in Ballard Co. KY This book was privately published by Riverfolk Publishing Co, Wickliffe, KY. There is no ISBN. I don't think the Publishing Co. still exists. Check with your nearest LDS Library to see if any LDS Archives have a copy. The introduction to the book is a 3 page bio of Mr. Horr and his store. Some of the facts noted: Mr. Ed W. Horr learned medicine at the Western Military Institute at Nashville, TN. He was a registered pharmacist His father was a surgeon and adjutant who served in the Mexican War. He had been a Union soldier in the Civil War, serving as the private secretary to the Assistant Surgeon General, R. C. Woods. He chose to settle in Blandville, Ballard Co. KY at the end of the War. He was a nephew of Gen. William T. Sherman. He had only 1 child, Ellen, who married Hiram Newton Sanford of Milburn. A grandson, Edward Sanford, ran the store after Mr. Horr's death.
