Deceased Name: COLMAN
COLMAN, Willard (Bill) H. - Died July 2, 2007 after a lengthy illness at the Genesee Hospice in Goodrich at the age of 80. The second child of Ivan J. and Helena M. (Hoard) Colman in Tuscola County, Michigan. Born on the first day of fall September 23, 1926. At the age of 17 Bill joined the Navy for the duration of WWII and he proudly served in both Atlantic and Pacific Campaigns. He returned home where he attended and graduated form Millington High School in 1948. He married Joyce Jean Hope on July 24, 1948. They shared almost 59 years together. Bill enjoyed softball, bowling, horseshoe, cards, and fishing. He was always quick with a joke and loved teasing the girls and sharing a good laugh with family and friends. A lifetime resident of the Millington Community he worked as a a volunteer for the Millington Fire Department for more than 25 years, He was a lifetime member of the Millington American Legion Post #164. He worked as a butcher for Cobbs store for years and then he worked for Universal Engineering in Frankenmuth before moving on to Chevy Truck and Bus Assembly in Flint. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Joyce and their children, Calvin and Gera Colman, Burton Colman and Karl and Connie (Colman) Titsworth, and special friend and brother-in-law Bill and wife Faith McPherson; Sisters-in-law Arlene Hess and Shirley Kogut. 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. His surviving siblings include Agnes Romaine of North Branch, Ron and Sue Colman of Fairgrove, Clayton Coleman, Donald Coleman, and Charles Coleman all of Millington. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Grace Morse, Robert Colman, Russell Coleman, Jack Colman and Alice Colman. In accordance with Bills wishes, cremation has taken place. A life celebration services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2007 at 1:00pm, followed by a time of visitation with family from 2:00 until 5:00pm at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington. Gifts of remembrance can be given in memory of Bill to the Millington-Arbela Twp. Fire Dept., the Millington Community Center or the Millington - Arbela District Library. Hanlin Funeral Home has been assisting the family with the arrangements.
