Mary Louise Witt, 67, of Baytown, Texas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2003. The sun rose in Knoxville, Pa., on November 1, 1935, bringing with it a new day and a new life. Mary Louise was born to Hazel Belle and Dearth Yorty Swoger. Her formative childhood years were spent in Ripley, New York, where she attended the local public school and church. She was later united in Holy Matrimony to August A. Witt. To this union was born six children, Cheryl, Williams, August, Richard, Alecia and Ann.
Mary L. Witt was a loving mother to all, and she was an active member of the Brazoria County Sheriffs Department.
Her passing brought sadness to the hearts of all who loved her. To cherish her memories, she leaves daughters, Cheryl Minton, Alecia Johnson, Ann Krenek; sons, August Witt, Richard Witt; 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Robert and wife Sharon, Richard and wife Sandra, all of Ripley, New York; sisters, Emma Jane Trippy, of North East, Pa., Della Odell of West Middlesex, Pa., Sandra and husband Mark Wagner, Jr, of Erie, Pa., Agnes and husband James Simmons, Marjorie and husband Henry Butcher, all of Ripley, New York; a host of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by husband, August A. Witt; son, William Witt; mother, Hazel Belle Hoar Swoger; father, Dearth Yorty Swoger; three brothers, Ronald, Dearth, Leonard Swoger; 2 sisters; Daryl and Hazel Swoger.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at Robey Funeral Home, with Rev. Patti Henry officiating.
