Deceased Name: Obituary - John H. Woelflein Sales representative; active in several groups
John H. Woelflein, 72, of Pond Road, Sanbornville, died Sunday, July 14, 1996, at the Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
Mr. Woelflein began his career as a sales representative for Uniroyal- U.S. Rubber Co. For many years, until his retirement, he was a technical sales representative for Shell Petro Chemical Co. in Stam- ford, Conn. Recently he had been a representative for Monson Chemi cal Co. in Leominster, Mass.
He was a member of Maximillan Koble Assembly, 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus; the American Legion in Connecticut; National Landings, Ships and Munitions; and New England Coatings Association. Also, he was a member and past president of the New England Chemical Club; and a life member of the Hampstead Civic Club.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of St. Anthony Parish in Sanbornville and a former member of St. Anne Parish in Hampstead.
He attended Haverhill, Mass., schools and was a graduate of St. James High School in Haverhill in 1942. He received a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering in 1949 from Northeastern University in Boston.
Mr. Woelflein was born in Haverhill on April 5, 1924, son of the late J. Henry and Helen M. (Hoar) Woelflein. He had been a resident of Sanbornville for the past nine years and previously resided in Atkinson and Hampstead.
Survivors include his wife, Claire H. (Staples) Woelflein of Sanborn- ville; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anne and Nickolas C. Sar- banis of Hampstead; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John H. III and Deborah Woelflein of Nashua, and Michael J. Woelflein of Ports- mouth; seven grandchildren; a brother, Kevin G. Woelflein of Riverside, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.
The C. Frank Linnehan & Son Funeral Service in Haverhill is in charge of arrangements.
