      Deceased Name: JOSEPH K. WINTER
      Joseph K. Winter, 89, of Campbell Street, died Monday morning, October 18, 2010 at Lewis County General Hospital.
      A private prayer service will be at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville, with Rev. Ronald Pominville, Deacon of St. Peter's Catholic Church, officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, 5457 Shady Ave., Lowville, NY 13367.
      He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie; four children, Joseph K., Jr. and Dorothy Winter of Kokomo, IN; Ann Winter and Michael Hoar of Enfield, NH; Lisa and David Peters of Peyton, CO; Patricia Randall of Constableville, NY; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step grandchildren; a sister, Lea Howley of Oswego, NY; nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Rose Salmon.
      Mr. Winter, a Catholic, was born on September 12, 1921 in the town of Greig, NY, a son of the late Joseph and Lea Kovach Winter. Mr. Winter was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1939 until 1945. On September 21, 1949, he married Marie K. Kraeger at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with Rev. John Cotter officiating. Mr. Winter retired from Georgia Pacific in Lyons Falls after many years of service.
