  [[ Obituary: Worcester Telegram & Gazette (MA) - December 15, 1995 Deceased Name: HELEN L. SHEA, 91 WORCESTER - Helen L. (Kennedy) Shea, 91, of 42 Richards St., an elementary-school teacher for many years, died Wednesday in Hermitage Nursing Home after a short illness. Her husband, John J. Shea Jr., died in 1981. She leaves two daughters, Joyce A. George of Worcester and Corinne F. Tobin of Wayland; a brother, David W. Kennedy of Worcester; five grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A sister, Ann P. Kobel of Leicester, died last January. She was born in Worcester, daughter of James H. and Mary E. (Hoar) Kennedy, and lived here all her life. She graduated from Worcester Normal School in 1924. Mrs. Shea was an elementary-school teacher in the city school system for 37 years, most recently at Gates Lane School. She Retired in 1973. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and an honorary member of its St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was a member of the Salvation Army Founders' Club, the National Retired Teachers Association and the Massachusetts State Employees Association. The funeral will be held tomorrow from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
