Virginia M. Gibson, 81, of Springfield, MO, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at Manor Care of Springfield after a courageous battle against renal and cardiovascular diseases. She was born on November 19, 1927, to Earl and Ethel (Burks) Hoar in Metalton, AR. She was retired from St. John's Hospital Lab Office and was a lifelong Baptist.
Survivors include: two daughters, Judith Paff and Beverly Follis and husband, John, all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Chris Dimmitt and wife, Laura, of Charleston, SC, Holly Dimmitt of Springfield, MO, Kameron Follis and Quincy Follis, both of Atlanta, GA; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Paisley Dimmitt of Charleston, SC; cousins, Jack Hatfield and wife, Ressie, of Berryville, Hazel Foley of Santa Clara, CA, and Mildred Sue Carmack of Carson City, NV; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her loving parents, former husband, H.B. Gibson and son-in-law, David Paff.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 9, at the Berryville Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Elmer Griever officiating. No visitation is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nelson Funeral Home. Berryville, AR.

Virginia leaves a legacy of love, compassion, grace, and thoughtfulness that will live on in those whose lives she touched. Peace be with you, Mother.
