MORRIS, a resident of Berryville, Arkansas, was born April 28, 1917, in Cabanal, Arkansas, a daughter of Joe F. and Bunea (Stacy) Burks. She departed this life Wednesday, February 9, 2005, in Berryville at the age of 87. Vella was a homemaker. She was also a Restaurant Cook and the Historical Museum Tour Guide. She was a member of the Metalton United Baptist Church. On October 5, 1968, she was united in marriage with R.B. Morris who survives her of the home. She is also survived by her step son, Bill Morris and her step daughter, Mary Ellen Morris both of Urbanette, Arkansas; five nieces, Virginia Gibson of Springfield, Missouri, Mabel Dooley of Berryville, and Pat Franklin, Hazel Foley, and Sue Carmack all of California; two nephews, Jack Hatfield of Berryville, and Fredie Burks of California; several other relatives; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Bunea Burks; a step son, Russell Morris; four sisters, Gladys Hatfield, Delta Smith, Ethel Hoar, and Alice Garver; and three brothers, Burton Burks, Homer Burks, and Austin Burks.
