Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Zebudiah Dewey and Beulah Stearns (I737-i82o), his second wife; Solomon Whitney and Polly Marshall, his wife. Zebudiah Dewey, (1726-1804), commanded a company at the battle of Hubbardton, wnere he gained the rank of major. He was born in Barrington, Mass.; died in Poultney, Vt. John Howe was placed on the pension roll of Rutland Co., Vt., 1818, for service of private in the Massachusetts Line. He was born, in 1763, in New Marlboro, Mass.
