Obituary:
Mrs. Elizabeth Thrasher Dead
Mrs. Elizabeth Thrasher died at about 5 o'clock Friday morning, 18th inst., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Schell, Huron street.
The deceased lady, who came to Michigan over thirty years ago, was born at Chester, Vermont. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Hoar and she was a second cousin to the present Senator Hoar and also a lineal descendant of Israel Putnam.
She was married to Amos Thrasher March 9, 1834 and had been a widow many years. For the past nineteen years she had been a member of the family of A. Schell and was known as an intelligent christian woman. Although her active life ended some fifteen years ago when she was disabled by an accident, her mental activities continued to the end. Her middle life was spent near Belleville Ont., from which she came to Michigan. The funeral was held from the M. E. church on Sunday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. R. Crosby, who appropriately chose for his text the words from the book of Job, "Thou shalt come to they grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in; in his season." The deceased who was 86 years old leaves a family as follows; Mrs. (Rev.) W. D. Couch, of Brooklyn, N. Y.; Mrs. A. C. Whitman, of Hurley, Wis.; Mr.A. Thrasher, of Chapin, Ill., and Mrs. A. Schell, of North Branch.
