SAMUEL FAYETTE HANSON Orange, August 9, 1942 ? Samuel F. Hanson, 91, a resident of Orange for many years, died Sunday afternoon at his home, 87 Hayden street, after several weeks' illness. Mr. Hanson was born in Prescott May 2, 1851, the oldest of five sons of Warren A. and Jehoaddan Vaughn Hanson. He outlived his four brothers, Alpheus, Daniel, Charles and Henry, all of whom were Erving residents. Mr. Hanson lived during his early life in Erving and worked for the Washburn Heywood factory there. Forty-one years ago he and his wife, the former Mabel Abbie Murdock, lo- cated in Orange. He was employed by the Gridley-Stone com- pany when he retired. For 66 years Mr. Hanson had been affil- iated with the Masonic order. He belonged to the Star Lodge of Athol and was its only living charter member. Members of that lodge acted as bearers and the Masonic ritual was read at the funeral services. Mr. Hanson leaves, besides his wife who is 86 years of age, one daughter, Mrs. Leroy Lezotte, and a son, Ray F. Hanson, teacher of industrial arts in the Camden, N. J., high school, and five grandchildren. Burial was in Center cemetery, Erving, Mass.
