She was born at the house in Mountville where she resided all her life, before moving to York in the Fall of 1991. Daughter of the late John and Margaret Swope Lamparter. Violet Denlinger, 90, of York, formerly of Mountville, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Misericordia Convalescent Home of natural causes. She was the wife of the late Arthur A. Denlinger. She was born at the house in Mountville where she resided all her life, before moving to York in the Fall of 1991. She was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Swope Lamparter. She worked as an end roller at the Mountville Wall Paper Company two times before her retirement. A former member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Mountville where she sang in the church choir. A member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, York. She assisted her brother Harry in his turkey business, she was active in the PTA, an excellent cook, enjoyed animals, loved bowling, baking pies, playing cards, traveling, canning and freezing of fruits and vegetables and was devoted to her family and extended family.
She is survived by two sons: Rev. John A. married to Mary Denlinger, York and Ronald E. married to Donna Denlinger, Mountville. Ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and another great-grandson due in July. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Mary Jane Keck; three brothers: John, Roy and Harry Lamparter and four sisters: Bertha Spickler, Mary Heiland, Pauline Weber and Anna Kresge.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Kay S. Rader officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc. from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Please omit flowers.
