      Obituary:
      William L. Beck, 81, of 361 North Main St., well known veteran of the Spanish-American War and president of the 46th United states Infantry Reunion, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 26, 1962) at his home.

      Born Nov. 20, 1881, in Ellery Center, the son of George and Anna Beck, Mr. Beck had spent his entire life in this area, with exception of service in the Spanish-American War.

      Mr. and Mrs. Beck observed their 56th wedding anniversary last June. They were married June 27, 1906 by Rev. Frederick A. Gould of the First Methodist Church.

      Survivors are his wife, Laura L. Hoard Beck; a daughter, Mrs. Wilmah Larson, Pasadana, Calif.; four grandchildren: Douglas Larson, Julia Ann Larson, David Larson and Robert Larson, all of Pasadana; four nephews: George Beck of the state of Washington; Howard Beck, Arizona; Ray Smiley and Harry Smiley, Jamestown; and three nieces, Mrs. Masrgaret Naples, Oregon; Mrs. Grace Prendred, New Jersey; and Mrs. Al Ekberg, Jamestown.

      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ Chapel of the First Methodist Church. Rev. Dr. James McIntosh will officiate. Burial will be in the Fluvanna Cemetery.
