DELOS HOARD DEAD SUFFERED MANY YEARS FROM CANCER Had Lived in Gratiot County Since 1884 The death of Delos Hoard of Lafayette occurred at his homje Monday last. He had been ill for a long time with cancer. His funeral was held yesterday, at his late home, Rev. A. Way officiating. Mr. Hoard was born in N. Y. in 1833. As a boy he came to Michigan with his parents and settled in Shiawassee county. In 1868 he was married to Sarah Atkinson. In 1884 they came to Gratiot and settled south of Ithaca. In 1893 they removed to Lafayette where they have since resided. Mr. and Mrs. Hoard were the parents of eight children, six of whom are living. They are Frank and Fred Hoard of Lafayette, Mrs. Adelia Gabrion and Lillie Greer of Sickels, Mrs. Derry of Hamilton and Mrs. Lilah Foote of Lafayette. He was one of nine children, three of whom are living. His wife also survives him.
