Bedient 65 Beverly St. Dalton, MA 01226 Undated clipping from the notebook of Georgia Pangborn: Mr. and Mrs. Hoar Celebrate 50th Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hoar celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 6, at their home. They were greatly surprised and pleased when about 20 friends and relatives came bringing gifts and dinner. After the dinner many more friends called with best wishes and one of the first was Rev. George Weaver of Petoskey who married them 50 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Hoar have lived 48 years in their house and their four children were raised there. Now they have sold their home and will go to Detroit this week to live with their son, Chester, and his family. Clipping dated Mar. 13, 1952 at Levering, Mrs. C. B. Walker, Correspondent: Thomas J. Hoar. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Levering Methodist church for Thomas J. Hoar, 81, who died at his Levering home Friday. He had been in ill health for several years. The Rev. Leon Shaffer conducted the rites and burial was at Carp Lake cemetery. Born April 13, 1870 at Walkerton, Ontario, Mr. Hoar came to Levering in 1880. On September 6, 1899, he married Sadie Carlton in Levering and they made their home on a farm north of Levering until three years ago when they moved to Detroit for a year, later coming back to Levering. He was a member of the Methodist church and was a Past Noble Grand of the IOOF. Surviving are his wife, Sadie; three sons, Harry of Long Beach, Long Island, New York, Donavan and Chester, both of Detroit; five grandchildren; one brother, George of Levering; and a sister, Jessie of Seattle, Wash.
