  [[ Obituary: MICHAEL L. OAR, 66 MACHESNEY PARK - Michael L. Oar, 66, of Machesney Park passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at his home. Michael was born June 14, 1946, in Rockford, the son of LaVern and Virginia Wright Hoar. Michael was a former member of the Navy Club and was in the Marine Corp Reserves. Michael is survived by his companion, Sandy Oar; children, Brent Oar, Matthew Oar (Dianna) and Shawn Gilbertson (Dawn); brother, Brad Hoar (Rosemary); sister, Christie Cassioppi (George Jr.); mother, Virginia; grandchildren, Brianna Sarver (Ryan), Tyler Gilbertson, Savannah Oar and Keegan Gilbertson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by father, LaVern. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dawn Leaich, Northern Illinois Hospice, SwedishAmerican Hospital and Madison University Hospital. Memorial service to celebrate Michael's life at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N.
